Sometimes we move away from ourselves. Sometimes it happens so gradually that suddenly we stop and realize we don’t recognize ourselves anymore.
Yoga teacher Jason Crandel says, “Yoga is the perfect opportunity to get curious about who you are.” It’s true. In fact a lot of the yoga practice places an emphasis on self study and withdrawl in to our own being. One of the 5 Niyamas or disciplines of yoga is Swadyaya. This is the Sanskrit word for self-study or self-observation.
We recommend that you screen shot the list below and check off which ways you practice self-care each day.
One of the 8 limbs of yoga is called pratyahara which means withdrawal of the senses. The primary goal of pratyahara is to get to know our internal world even better.
Sometimes we forget to check in. Sometimes we forget what selfcare even looks like…
So with that in mind, here’s a quick self-care check-in you can do with yourself.
Of course it would be near impossible to do all of these things every day.
Check-in daily with yourself and maybe with the list too and see if you can do at least 3-things to check in with yourself and practice some self-care each day.
